Christina says:

Journalist Robin Hudson promised her girl friends a night on the town,
but after returning to New York from a business trip to California she’d
much rather settle for a quiet evening in front of the TV. That’s not
the right way to spend Halloween, though, so she dons a costume and goes
out because she doesn’t want to disappoint her intern Kathy. Kathy never
shows up where they were supposed to meet. Somebody seems to have involved
her in a murder mystery game set up for Robin by her old school chum Julie
Goomey. Robin and her friend Tamayo follow the clues and find out that
this is not some harmless prank.
Robin Hudson is a single big city girl who knows what she wants. She
worked her way up to the position of producer of the Special Reports
of the All News Network so she doesn’t have to put up with her
former boss and worm Jerry Spurdle anymore. Fortunately that hasn’t put
an end to her grotesquely funny adventures. THE REVENGE OF THE COOTIE
GIRLS takes place in one single night and is something of a roller coaster
ride. Not only is Robin herself an extraordinary woman with an attitude,
but she also surrounds herself with a bunch of unusual friends. There’s
the "white witch" Sally who always meets the wrong men (Robin
attributes that to her shaved head), Japanese-American comedian Tamayo
with her weird sense of humor and the journalist Claire who is trying to
choose between career and love. And last but certainly not least Julie
Goomey whose friendship Robin starts to see in a different light as the
story progresses.
THE REVENGE OF THE COOTIE GIRLS is not for people who like their
mysteries to be strictly realistic. To enjoy Sparkle Hayter’s books it’s
best to fasten your seatbelt and go along for the ride. Just close your
eyes whenever the twists and turns get too fantastic. |
